ELECTRONIC-LOCKING REAR DIFFERENTIAL

When activated, the available electronic-locking rear differential locks the axle completely at both wheels simultaneously, delivering the traction you need off-road when you need it the most. Available as a separate option or included in the Tremor, FX4 and FX2 Off-Road Packages.

4X4 ELECTRONIC SHIFT-ON-THE-FLY

Shifting into four-wheel drive is as easy as turning a dial with the electronic shift-on-the-fly (ESOF) system. ESOF lets you choose two four-wheel-drive modes (4x4 high or low), as well as two-wheel drive for travel on dry paved surfaces.

INDEPENDENT A-ARM FRONT SUSPENSION

The 2021 Ford Ranger has a double A-arm independent front suspension engineered for agility and control over rugged off-road terrain. The shock absorbers are the monotube type designed for fade resistance and heat dissipation. They're also nitrogen gas-pressurized for shock-damping consistency over sustained rough road conditions.

The FX4 Off-Road Package also includes skid plates for the electric power-assisted steering (EPAS) electronic motor, transfer case and fuel tank. Looks meet performance with the available FX2 package, which includes FX2 bodyside decals, standard 17-inch Off-Road OWL tires and available 18-inch off-road OWL tires. Both packages include a traction-enhacing electronic-locking rear differential, plus an off-road suspension. And inside, a cluster screen provides feedback on pitch and roll plus steering angle.
